Once you determine what it will cost you to complete the project, you need to consider other variables like location, contract requirement, planned method of construction, etc. Review your current backlog of upcoming projects to make sure you can provide the manpower, equipment, staff, and other resources to commit to the project when construction is expected to commence and complete it within the required timeline.
You also need to ensure your company is financially capable of completing the project, meaning you have the bonding capacity and adequate cash flow to perform the work without jeopardizing any of your other obligations. There is such a thing as having too much work. You should also take a look at your performance on the projects you did win and complete. Did you underperform or were you able to successfully manage the project or identify areas to improve productivity to complete the project under budget?
By analyzing historical data, you can better identify which bids you should be going after. Consider whether or not the project you are looking to bid on fits in with the long-term strategy and goals of your company. Are you looking to maintain your current level or are you trying to grow your business? Are you looking to expand into new geographic locations or new markets? On the flip side, sorority members are not supposed to be contacting you either.
That is a big N-O! A sorority is not allowed to send any gifts or notes that may influence you to join their sorority. The goal is to join a sisterhood that's all about loving you for your personality Recruitment is a very personal process. Why did I come here? That was before you even visited a sorority house! You were impressed with all university had to offer.
Pull out your Involvement List and remind yourself why you picked State University. But the university has a lot that I think you will like it there if you give them a chance. Maybe the houses were full of legacies? Maybe quota changed? You maximized your options which is all you could do!
Outside of that, it is strictly numbers. Pull out your Involvement List — look at all of the organizations just waiting for a girl like you to join! Greek letters do not define who you are to me, to the college or to yourself. Does she know other girls that got cut? If she claims- through large elephant tears- that she is the only one, gently remind her that there are other girls in her shoes.
Are there girls on her hall that did not even go through recruitment? Bottom line: Your daughter feels alone and rejected.
There are no magic words to make everything ok. But your availability to listen to her and your thoughtful words of guidance will empower her. Ask her to go out of her dorm room and just talk to someone. Seek and ye shall find! Sitting alone in a dorm is not going to change her situation, but actions will! Ask her to look into one group on her Involvement List in the next 24 hours. Give her a deadline.
This will empower her to move on! Rush is a great time to see if you could picture yourself as a member of that group. After all three rushes have taken place, each group discusses which students would be a positive addition to the group.
Usually, this is a tedious process and takes many hours. When a student receives this bid, they are able to accept, deny or defer the bid to join that fraternity or sorority. Deferring a bid is like deferring a college admission; you are able to postpone it for a year.
