More expert witnesses are expected to testify before the attorneys on both sides make their closing arguments. And taxpayers don't get a dime from all the advertisements appearing with Arias trial coverage. It's a fairly steep price, considering that New Times is a free paper.

But of course it's actually worth much, much more -- and we've got more of them in our office, if someone's buying. The dismissal is the latest in a string of petitions by Arias' legal team to have a mistrial declared. They previously took issue with prosecutor Juan Martinez posing for pictures and signing autographs outside of the courthouse. The high profile trial has been flooded with attention.

Last week, a TV legal commentator was called to testify in court about her statements about the trial. LaViolette, a defense witness, has been testifying for more than a week about her conclusion that Arias was a victim of abuse at the hands of Travis Alexander in the months before his death.

Arizona is among a few states where jurors have the legal right to pose questions to witnesses through queries read by the judge. The questions have ranged from how the witness can know that Arias isn't lying to queries about her childhood and claims that the Alexander abused her.

Authorities said Alexander suffered nearly 30 knife wounds, was shot in the head and had his throat slit. Arias' palm print was found in blood at the scene, along with nude photos of her and Alexander from the day of the killing.

Prosecutor Juan Martinez on Friday attacked LaViolette's credibility, questioning whether she had ever testified in a courtroom before. Martinez and defense attorney Jennifer Willmott have been presenting dueling portraits of Alexander: as a man who feared for his life as he tried to distance himself from Arias or as a manipulative liar who courted multiple women while claiming to be a virgin.
